The idea

Time tracking is mandatory. Effort isn't.

Since the 2022 ruling of Germany's Federal Labour Court, every employer must systematically record working time. TimeTracker turns that into a single click — in the browser or on the phone. Breaks, overtime and the monthly working-time law check run along automatically.

Compliance traffic light

Green means: sleep well.

Once a month TimeTracker automatically checks all entries against applicable working-time law — and shows per person and rule whether everything is fine.

Compliant

All rest periods, breaks and maximum hours respected. Nothing to do.

Notice

A value is approaching a limit, such as the weekly average within the reference period. With a recommendation on what makes sense now.

Critical

A rule was breached — with legal basis, affected day and a concrete suggested action.

What is checked

  • Rest period between two working days (11 h)
  • Daily maximum (DE 10 h · AT 12 h · CH 13 h · LI 12 h · LU 10 h)
  • Weekly average within the reference period
  • Minimum breaks by hours worked
  • Sunday and public-holiday work
  • Missing entries (Sec. 16 (2) ArbZG)

Jurisdictions

DE ArbZG AT AZG · ARG CH ArG LI ArG LU Code du travail EU 2003/88/EG

Depending on the country of the employment contract, the matching rules apply automatically — Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Luxembourg. Where a national rule is missing, the EU Working Time Directive serves as the minimum standard.

The compliance traffic light is a self-check aid and does not replace legal advice.

FAQ

What you want to know first.

Not covered? Write to us — we answer honestly, even if TimeTracker isn't the right fit.

Do I have to record my employees' working hours at all?
In Germany, yes. In 2022 the Federal Labour Court ruled that employers must introduce a system to record working time — start, end and duration including breaks. For overtime and Sunday/holiday work the duty under Sec. 16 (2) ArbZG applies anyway. TimeTracker meets these requirements and documents entries in a tamper-evident way.
Where does my data live?
On a dedicated server for your company alone, operated in a data centre in Germany. Your data is kept separate from other customers. We handle operation, updates and backups, with a data-processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. We do not offer self-hosting.
How do employees without a fixed workplace clock in?
In the browser on their phone — TimeTracker is a progressive web app and can be added to the home screen like a native app. Office, home office or on the road is booked along with the time.
Can I correct entries afterwards?
Yes, within a period you define yourself. Every correction is flagged as manually edited and recorded in the audit log. Admins can edit days at any time, employees only within the deadline.
How do the hours get into payroll?
All overviews export to XLSX, CSV or ODS. Certificates (leave, home office, educational leave) are generated as PDF from your own Word templates. For automated integrations there is a REST API and signed webhooks.
What about Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg?
Leave entitlement and the compliance traffic light know the rules for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg — including public holidays per state or canton. The interface is available in German and English, selectable per user.
Do I need the whole Team.Qube suite?
No. TimeTracker runs standalone on your server. If you later want to add resource planning, customer management or projects, everything is already prepared — one login, the same users, no migration.
What does TimeTracker cost?
Basic from €3.50, Plus from €5.50 and Pro from €9.00 per user and month, each cancellable monthly. From 11 and 21 users a lower volume price applies to all users. Add-ons cost €1.00 per user and month each and are included in Pro. All details on the pricing page.
